Corstorphine is fondly referred to by its residents as their ‘village in the city’ and it has certainly kept its distinctive community feel. Here, green open spaces abound and the shops, pubs and local facilities have avoided the bland uniformity that has affected other suburban environments. Delightful it may be, but Corstorphine certainly isn’t old-fashioned. This is a vibrant place to live and offers all the modern conveniences one could wish for. The Gyle shopping centre is only five minutes away, as is the city bypass, with the airport only a little further on. Head towards the city and you’ll be in Princes Street in around 15 minutes thanks to the excellent bus service that runs between Corstorphine and Edinburgh.
